“Love what you love, and make no apologies.”
I’ve long-since dismissed Valentine’s Day as a corporate-sponsored massacre on love steeped in exclusivity. NOTE: according to everyone, I skew melodramatic. BUT ALSO: let’s pull this thread and redefine things a bit-
This Valentine’s Day, amidst the cacophony of conversation hearts and uninspired prix fixes, act out radically. Take time to name the things you love-those which give you absolute joy-and find ways to make that love more active.
This sounds lofty, or maybe just lame, but I think it’s a valuable exercise. If we love what we love actively and unapologetically, we are aligned toward fulfillment, and to making this crazy world a better place to call home.
Me—some things I love are writing and performing. I can be more active in that love by letting go of expectations and appreciating the work itself.
Happy Freaking Valentine’s Day, loves. Make no apologies.
