Calling all YOUNG CREATIVES with desire for a challenge!
Applications for our 9th Annual RECYCLED RUNWAY program are out, so it's time to let your imagination FLY!
What is Recycled Runway, you ask?
Well, for starters, it's an amazing workshop (held at our Boulder store's Creative Lab) for students in grades 6-12. The young designers create runway looks from - you guessed it - recycled materials! But, there's a catch: there are no traditional fabrics allowed. It's more of an "unconventional materials challenge" using items that would have otherwise been tossed into the landfill (popped balloons, coffee pods, gum wrappers) or the recycling bin (soda cans & tops, phone books, concert tickets). All pieces are sewn, glued, stapled, wrapped or hand-stitched to perfection by the teens. At the end of the six-week program, the designers present their fashions in a professional runway show & competition at the renowned Boulder Theater!
Recycled Runway is a juried workshop, so the applications are an important part of the intake process. Please take time in filling out the details, answering the questions & completing the required sketches.
